On Saturday, the 31st we drove only 90 miles from Helena to Great Falls. Along the way we made a couple of stops. One stop was at "The Gateway to the Rockies". This was a beautiful canyon named by Merriweather Lewis when Lewis and Clark explored the territory of the Louisiana Purchase. Our second stop was at the Ulm Pishkun State Park, the site of an Indian Buffalo kill. It was one of several sites in Montana where the Indians drove buffalo over cliffs.
In addition to these two stops we drove along the banks of the Missouri River and saw more beautiful Rocky Mountain sights.
